With one wing’s structural work complete, a second under construction, and a third set to begin this month, the progress of the project allows us to announce that PIXEL will be completed in June 2024.
Just one more year of construction, and the keys will be handed over to the buyers of the PIXEL! To date, the structural work on Wing A is complete, that on Wing B is underway, and construction on Wing C is just getting started. After several years of planning and development, the new face of the Vetrotex neighborhood is taking shape!
The heart of the neighborhood
Among the guiding principles behind this project, its location in the new Vetrotex eco-neighborhood is significant. The project architect and the chief architect of the ZAC (joint development zone) ensured that LE PIXEL would integrate in various ways into this former industrial wasteland.
The choice of certain materials, such as zinc, aluminum, and glass, echoes the neighborhood’s former use. In addition, “palaver boxes” have been incorporated and are dotted throughout Wing B. These unique spaces—small units located within the walkways—will be equipped with fixed furniture (coffee tables and seating). They will allow everyone, particularly those with limited outdoor space, to entertain their loved ones there.
New generation
While LE PIXEL does not completely erase the neighborhood’s past, it looks resolutely toward the future and new ways of living. Resource conservation is a top priority. Its excellent insulation performance (it will be certified NF Habitat and RT 2012 -20%), the presence of solar panels, and rainwater harvesting systems all contribute to significant savings.
The green facade, and more broadly, the 1,000 m² of greenery comprising the landscaped courtyard, the 180 m² shared terrace, the greenhouse, and the green roof, ensure comfortable temperatures in the summer.
Finally, one of the unique features of PIXEL is the presence of co-housing units, each with two separate entrances for a single residence. Featuring one bedroom and one bathroom, these units are ideal for accommodating a teenager or a senior, offering student housing (a kitchenette can easily be installed), or even serving as a workspace for a self-employed professional.
