Zero-interest loan: extension and relaxed eligibility requirements

The PTZ (zero-interest loan) program has been extended through 2027. This decision comes with new eligibility and application requirements.

Here’s some good news for first-time homebuyers! You can now take advantage of the zero-interest loan ( PTZ) through 2027. And with this extension, the program has been updated. Since April1, eligibility requirements have been relaxed and the income thresholds have been adjusted for the first time since 2016. So now is the time to take advantage of it.

What are the terms and conditions?

To qualify for the zero-interest loan, your home must be located in Zone A, A bis, or B1. This is the primary requirement. All of our new developments— whether currently under construction or available—meet this criterion and are therefore eligible for the zero-interest loan. Your future home must also be located in a multi-unit building and serve as your primary residence. To qualify for the PTZ, your income from the year N-2 must be below a certain income threshold. This threshold varies depending on the zone (A, A bis, or B1) and the number of people who will occupy the home. For example, the reference taxable income for the year N-2 for a couple must not exceed 73,500 euros in Zone A and 51,750 euros in Zone B1. The amount of your zero-interest loan is based on these same criteria (zone where the property is located, number of people who will occupy the home) as well as on the purchase price of the property.

Finance up to 50% of the purchase price

The PTZ is a program designed to help people become homeowners. It can help finance a portion of the purchase of your primary residence. This can cover up to 50% of the cost of a new home (up from 40% previously). All without paying interest on this loan. If it does not finance the entire purchase and is used in conjunction with another mortgage, it represents an incredible opportunity. With the revision of the income guidelines for PTZ eligibility, an additional 6 million households could qualify. Note that you can take advantage of the zero-interest loan if you are already a homeowner, but under certain conditions.
